I have been using cpap machine since three months. Initially it was great. I was getting 7 hours of sleep but lately I've been getting only 4 to 5 hours of good sleep and I wake up with fresh feeling. As the day goes by I feel my eyes in a drooping stage but strangely does not feel sleepy even though I know I did not had a full sleep for at least 6 hours.I need some help please.

Re: Getting only 4 to 5 hours of sleep using cpap machine
We need a lot more information to be able to offer any ideas to help.
Please add your equipment to your profile and also include pressure settings a mode of operation if you are using something other than fixed cpap mode. Please use text instead of icony...see how I have mine shown.

If your machine offers full data...use the software that is available to determine if your therapy is at least effective or not on paper.
Also...list any meds you might be taking because often meds have side effects that mess with sleep quality.

What you've described is quite normal. You're getting better sleep in a shorter amount of time. Unfortunately, it can wear off during the day but should improve once you've gotten used to this new way of sleeping.......assuming your therapy settings are optimal and you're not leaking your therapy air out your mouth.Raheel wrote:I have been using cpap machine since three months. Something's wrong... the OP joined on Feb. 5, but profile shows only one post (today's), but itself is a quote, whether from some other note the OP has since deleted, or else someone else's note (of today?) that relates to the OP's problem... strange.

Not necessarily. They may have copied the text from another BBS message board as a quote.Julie wrote:Something's wrong... the OP joined on Feb. 5, but profile shows only one post (today's), but itself is a quote, whether from some other note the OP has since deleted, or else someone else's note (of today?) that relates to the OP's problem... strange.
Anyways...You can put anything in a quote at any time
My "new normal" is typically about 6 hours of sleep. Pre-APAP machine, I was tired after getting 8.

Thank you for the replies.
Julie, I had posted the same about a month ago. However I did not find my post and so had to write again. I am new to this forum.
I will post the cpap details with in a couple of days.
