5 days in and much easier than I anticipated

Post by Rocketshan » Fri Mar 13, 2015 8:37 am

I'm 5 days into using the APAP. The first night I was nervous and as I was laying there, it was weird. I have the nasal mask and it was a bit strange to get used to not breathing through my mouth. I'm not a mouth breather for sleep, but when you are sitting there thinking about it, of course I started to breath through my mouth and that was just weird. I was extremely nervous that I would have a hard time but it really wasn't bad at all. I haven't looked at my data yet on Sleepyhead, but I have received my resmed scores from myair. They are pretty good. Even my H who has used a cpap for over 5 years now was impressed with my first night. He was also impressed with how quiet it was when he came to bed

Even after 5 days, I feel a change in my attitude and overall tiredness. I still get tired a bit, and I know that will take time, but I don't feel like I've been hit by a Mack truck and then backed over five more times. Maybe just three times Thanks so much for this board. I'm mostly just a reader here but am grateful for the wealth of information that I've found. And to all the new people here who are worried about having to use the CPAP or APAP, I will say while it's strange as all get out at first, it feels a hell of a lot better than feeling like crap most of the time. It's definitely worth it.

I'm a week in myself, I'm already very attached to my machine. I'm feeling better already! I was fortunate enough to find this forum shortly after my initial diagnosis. My dad and father-in-law are now in the process themselves.

I'm about 50 days in -- still a newbie -- and very happy with the results.

Up fewer times a night. Feel RESTED!!! And most of the time I actually like what it feels like to be on the CPAP.
