Hello,
First, I would like to say thank you to all who have contributed to this forum. Even though my sleep apnea doesn't seem to be severe, all of the information is very helpful.
I have a quick question about air noise. Two different times several nights apart, I have woken up with a wooshing noise being fairly loud. The first night I adjusted my mask and moved around and it didn't stop, but then all of a sudden it was gone. Last night it happened again, but I was more awake so was able (I think) to pin point the problem. It seemed that my tongue was away from the roof of my mouth. Now I have played around, when I first got the machine, with opening and closing my mouth, and letting air out. The noise was similar, but I didn't see that as the issue because my mouth was closed both times.
Where would air even go to make that kind of noise if my mouth is closed, or was I not as awake as I thought, and just imagined it? Air swirling around in the vacant recesses of my cranium doesn't count.

If the exhaust from the mask hits your sheet/ blanket or pillow you will hear a loud "wooshing" sound. When you turn away or move the bedding, the sound will disappear.
