mask cleaning

Post by Amers605 » Mon Feb 23, 2015 2:24 pm

Hi
Do any of you use mask wipes?
I was using vinegar and water, but then I bought some wipes for my mask.
I use the wipes daily, and use vinegar and water for weekly deep cleanings.

If you wipes, what brands do you use and where do you buy them?

Wipes are great as long as there's no petroleum jelly or alcohol in them... baby wipes are popular, but you can get specific ones on Cpap.com as well.

I buy a large package of generic Equate unscented hypoallergenic and alcohol free baby wipes at Walmart.

Hi Amers - I also use wipes daily on my mask, and agree with the others to use ones that are unscented and have no petroleum jelly or alcohol in them. WalMart's Equate ones are fairly inexpensive, and I also cut mine into quarters to make them go further. I keep the wipes in a small covered plastic container with a bit of water, so they are handy to use in the morning.

I have Citrus II wipes that I use mostly if I have a cold or when I'm traveling. I normally don't use them on a daily basis -- I have mask liners, and do a soaking with dishwater and vinegar about every 4 days when I'm not traveling. Once a week hose and tank get a soaking. Citrus II wipes are available from our sponsors, cpap.com, and from many DMEs.
