Compliance Question for DOT

Post by Antlavony » Sat Jan 10, 2015 1:48 am

Hello,

I am going for a pre-employment physical for Transit and I use a Cpap but I don't have insurance or a doctor. I know for now I am compliant the last 30 days, as far as I know (over 70 percent >4) but I'm unsure how to show US Healthworks. I am in a new state and the DME is used with my old insurance is not around here. Will a 30 day print out be enough? Is there a place I can go without insurance that they will accept?

My company requires I show most recent 2 weeks compliance, if ever I let things go badly to be back in order. If your machine has an SD card, take that with to your physical. You COULD go overkill and take the machine...also, check with the new company. Could be that if youre required to use xPAP, they may have a program in place to get machines for drivers, then take weekly payments from paychecks til paid off. More expensive than buying used or outright, but can be a great alternative to buying new tech if money is tight.

After I was required to get a sleep study by the DOT and placed on Cpap, as much as I didn't think I needed it, life has gotten better. Here is what I did. I down loaded both Sleepyhead http://sleepfiles.com/SH/index.html?TestingVersions and encore viewtopic.php?f=1&t=92249&st=0&sk=t&sd= ... d&start=90. When it was time for me to prove my compliance I took reports from both and they accepted them. My encore report looked identical to the one provided earlier by the DME.
While waiting another person brought their machine in and they sent them to their doctor because they didn't have anything to read the data with. So I would work on reading the data, people here will help you get setup, and having a printed backup copy to make the process easier. But do take your SD card with you in case they want to do it themselves.

My company also sends reports to clinic docs. Probably via email. This makes things even simpler for dopes like me, when I forget stuff. Ask your safety department what they supply and what you need to bring in. Never hurts to be overprepared.
