I have been using a cpap for 16 years so I'm a veteran with these things. Best invention ever. Lately I have noticed, especially if I am sleeping on my back (usually I am a side sleeper) I get dry mouth. Sometimes ,even when I am breathing normally at night with the mask on and the cpap running, I can feel my mouth slowly fill with air to the point where I eventually "burp" it out. I started using a chin strap to keep my mouth shut (thats a new thing here recently). It sometimes helps some but it ain't perfect. Maybe too much pressure? I had sleep study done last year this time but no changes were made. Any thoughts? Any solutions? Any experiences?

strange inflation
Re: strange inflation
When's the last time you had either a sleep study or else used software to track what's going on? People change over time, not to mention equipment, and with nothing to go otherwise, who can say what's happening? But I know if I lie on my back with the mask that otherwise fits well, my whole face changes (falls away) so the mask doesn't fit and leaks all over. Plus, of course, back sleeping provokes more apneas, so is never a great idea.
Re: strange inflation
Sounds as though your tongue is falling away from sealing your airway closed into your mouth. Gravity does that, but any throat issues? Or medications?

Re: strange inflation
My excuse for anything new is, "I've never been this old before. Probably age related." It keeps me out of doctor offices, anyhow.
