Aromatherapy Question
Aromatherapy Question
Hi all. I am new to CPAP. In fact, last night was my first night. If you've used aromatherapy (essential oils), can you tell me if this scents the entire room? My husband, who also uses CPAP, does not care for the scents and is concerned if I use them, it will smell up the whole bedroom. Any comments would be most welcome!

Re: Aromatherapy Question
I use aromatherapy and the answer is ......that depends! I use a one of those round makeup remover pads and put it on top of the essential oil bottle and turn the bottle upside down quickly. SO I get a dallop of oil without saturation. I then place it near the air intake of my cpap machine. THis does NOT smell the home room up.
To learn from my mistakes.....I have used a cotton ball in the past, but that absorbs more oil and it becomes all the more strong and yes you can smell it . Not the whole room (I do have a large bedroom) but yes since its by the bed, you can catch a whif on the other side. My husband didn't hate it, but didn't love it either.
I also tried putting a drop or two on the filter of my cpap. It was WAY too strong in my mask that way and I about burnt my lungs out within 2 minutes. That filter got replaced PDQ. That was a really bad idea for me~!!!

Re: Aromatherapy Question
Dirty Martini - thanks for the tips. And also thank you for explaining how NOT to do it. Just what I was looking for. Thank you so much.
