Resmed S9 Daily Data Incorrect

Post by Buster52 » Mon Dec 08, 2014 6:04 pm

I have only being using my S9 for a few months and recently started looking at the data. When I bring up the info for the the daily sleep quality from the previous night I see 0.0. I have been removing the hose and leaving it on when going to the restroom during the night, would this corrupt the data or do I have an issue I need to have addressed by my provider? Sorry if this question has been asked before.

Thanks, Buster

you need to check your data before noon, or better yet, download sleepyhead and look at the vast amount of data you're missing. (assuming you don't have one of the crap escape models)

I assume that the AHI 0.0 is on the machine's LCD screen? If so, what time are you checking the on screen data? The machine will reset to 0.0 at 12 PM (Noon) per the machine's clock and if you are checking the data after 12 PM then it will be 0.0 because it starts a new day.
Now if you are using the software and it shows 0.0 for numerous days all in a row try unplugging the machine from electric source for 2 or 3 minutes and then plug back in and check the software data tomorrow.

Palerider I have the Elite model, are you saying the data is deleted at noon? Sorry I have no idea what Sleepyhead is, software of sort sort I presume.

Pugsy, I have been checking the data later in the day just didn't know it would clear itself. And yes the AHI does had only a dash -- no numbers. The 0.0 is hours of usage for previous day. Thanks

The machine starts a new session every 24 hours and that new session starts at Noon. You need to check the on screen data before Noon or simplest thing is to use the software. Nothing is erased from the machine itself though and the software doesn't have any time restraints.
SleepyHead information can be found in my signature line or Palerider's signature line.
The other alternative is to go a little deeper into the menu where the AHI is shown but I don't do it enough to tell you how to do it.

the elite is a fine unit, full data available. it doesn't delete the data at noon, but as far as the machine is concerned, (considering it works at night, noon is the start of a new day, so when you check "todays data" after noon, there's nothing to see, because at that point, it's yesterday's data. see?

sleepyhead is software that interprets the data from the SD card, see my sig.

in other words... what she said *points at pugsy*

Thanks for all the help. I downloaded and installed SleepyHead and below is what I see. Not good I guess.

The last time you used your ResMed VPAP Auto...
was last night (on Sunday, December 07, 2014)
You had an AHI of 14.15, which is considered horrible, please consult your doctor
You machine was on for 8 hours, 20 minutes and 17 seconds.
Your mask is leaking way too much.. Talk to your CPAP advisor.
Your machine was under 8-12 cmH2O for 95% of the time.

yup, not good.

click on data, then arrange the charts on the left so you have event flags, flow, leaks, snore and flow limit, then hit f12, then look in the snapshots directory (click help/about to find where the snapshots directory is) and upload the snapshot to a file sharing site like imgur.com then post the linked bbcode link that imgur gives you.

Within the charts I do not see, snore, flow or flow limits unless they are titled something else. I see leak rate and large leak chart. Unless I am looking in the wrong place. If I click on data tab I get the options Oxemitry, import options, clean up Oxemitry, rebuild CPAP data and advanced.

the chart you posted is great, lots of info for people here to look at... sorry, I mean daily, not data.
first thing to do is get your leaks under control. what kind of mask are you using?

Wow...someone beat my large leak % record.. My worst has been 36% time in large leak.
Like PR says...gotta work on the leaks first and foremost.
Looks suspiciously like some big mouth breathing leaks to me...is your mouth uncovered?
Using a nasal interface mask with mouth uncovered? Or is the mouth covered by the mask?

Pugsy and Palerider:

Your posts are relevant and enlightening to me, as well! I have a ResMed Air Sense 10 Autoset, and I have also been concerned about the apparent loss of hours shown on the machine. I tend to go to sleep very late (actually very early in the morning), sometimes need to get up for an hour or so and then go back to bed, and often sleep past noon. So, your explanation that the machine starts a new day at noon is reassuring. Thanks!
