Hello experienced travel buddies!
In a few weeks time, I am going to Mexico for a two week holiday and have some questions about using my CPAP there. I tried the 'search' for past posts but kept getting a message "No posts exist inside this topic for the selected time frame." Recent posts come up but don't answer my questions.
1 - Do I need to use the humidifier? The ambient temperatures at night will be around 72F or so. Here at home, my room temperature in the fall/winter is cooler but I use a fleece cover on the hose to prevent 'rainout' . I am thinking that I won't need to use the fleece cover if I need to continue with the humidifier.
2- If I need to use the humidifier, then is it OK to use bottled water? I am staying in a very small coastal town so I expect it will be difficult to find distilled water.
3 - Is there a 'built-in- surge protector in the ResMed S9 Elite or do I need to use a surge protector bar?
Thanks for your suggestions.

Re: Mexico Travel Questions
1 - depends. Will there be air conditioning? You could always pack the humidifier into to your luggage BUT make sure that you have the right connections to attach the hose to the machine without that humidifier.
2 - both bottled water and drinkable tap water are fine. The reason they want distilled is to prevent mineral build up which is hard to clean out so if the tap water is very hard use bottled water. Rinse out your tank daily.
3 - always bring a surge protector AND an extension cord - that way you won't have to sleep on the floor beside the bathroom.

Re: Mexico Travel Questions
I would avoid the tap water and use bottled water. Don't forget to use the bottled water for brushing your teeth, too.
