I went and seen my new Dr today and I'm kinda excited....that's gonna sound kinda funny when I tell you what she said. First she wants to do a Titration sleep study, but she said she can kinda already see what my problems is with why I take my mask off and also why I feel soooo bad when I am able to wear it for long periods of time. She said my oxygen is dropping really , really low at night and with the v pap blowing it's smothering me pretty much. So she said first she would do the study and see if they can figure out exactly what pressure I need and then also will maybe have to put me on oxygen at night.
I have hope again..........................................thanks Jules

Re: New dr today
Sounds like your new Dr. Is paying attention and is focussed on getting your therapy to work for you.
The titration study may resolve both the pressure and the O2 supplementation issues. The sleep lab may very well put you on O2 during the night if your sats drop too much and don't easily come back up with pressure changes.
Best wishes for a successful titration study.

Re: New dr today
The thing that I don't get is that my last Dr. Was my lung Dr plus my sleep Dr and when I have my first sleep study done they came in and put oxygen on me then and that is what this dr is going on. She said my oxygen dropped in the 50's most of the night.... So my question is why didn't my other Dr ever think that I might need oxygen ? Just kinda makes me mad....she had pretty much given up on me. Told me she had done about all she could do.
Re: New dr today
It seems some doctors seem to think that CPAP will just fix everything.
I am doing battle right now, not with my doctor, but with the insurance company and medical group who don't want to provide filters for my O2 concentrator, since they didn't provide it.
They had me do an overnight SPO2 test last night without my PAP machine to determine my need for supplemental O2.
I wanted to do it with the PAP machine but without O2, until I realized their way will prove my point more prominently than my way.
