Waking up every half hour
Waking up every half hour
I am waking up every 30-40 minutes since I started the cpap. My min was 4 and max was 13. I understand that I have only used it for 10 nights and that I am still getting used to it but it still seems that something more than that is causing me to wake up. My wife is awake for most of them and she says that the pressure appears low when it happens. I remember some of them the following morning and others I have no memory of. At the start I put it down to leaks but that problem is sorted. I increased the min pressure to 7 or 8 last night (cant rem exact number) but that made no difference. Does anyone else experience this?
Re: Waking up every half hour
It would help us a lot if you could fill in your equipment profile, with text not pictures, so we know what equipment you are using.
Next dowload Sleepyhead software so you can see an accurate representation of what is happening all night.
Without detailed information all we can do is guess.
My guess is you are opening your mouth and the air rushing out is drying and irritating your lips.

Please add your equipment to your profile like I have added mine ...that way we won't have to ask you what you are using each time you ask a question. It would also be helpful if you add your pressure settings in the comment line.
Don't know why you are waking up often but the first place to look is the software reports.
Don't know about software? Check out the links in my signature line.
Let's see if anything stands out on the software reports that might be a factor.
Just do a recent night detailed report since the new minimum pressure. No need to show an image with the original minimum of 4...I am pretty sure that was too low and maybe the current minimum is too low...or maybe something else.
How to post an image of that detailed report once you get one is talked about here along with examples.

The pressure changes are probably waking you up. And, if your mask isn't adjusted to the highest pressure, it'll leak as the pressure increases. If you're using a nasal mask, maybe your mouth is being forced open as the pressure increases.bdrcm wrote:I am waking up every 30-40 minutes since I started the cpap. My min was 4 and max was 13. We're guessing without sufficient information.
