HanzT wrote:Hi, I am looking for some ideas on why I wake up every hour or so. I seem to have gotten GERD and that or something else gives me a very dry mouth during the night (I seem to be very thirsty all the time too). Every hour or so I wake up now and can't figure it out. I cant tell if I am breathing faster or what is causing it. I see my Resp Rate moving up, and Tidal Volume and Minute Vent high before I wake but not sure what that means. Perhaps its the dry mouth but seems odd. Any feedback would be appreciated from what you see on the charts or can guess from my issues. Thanks H
Addressing Riveter's problem: Try this product before you go to bed... it works all night and helps keep your mouth moist. I'd avoid the other similar gel products because they don't last more than a few hours:riveter wrote:I wake up after two or three hours with a horribly dry mouth because I can't breathe through my nose. I do use a full face mask. I recently found I have a deviated septum and enlarged turbinates. It took me a long time to figure out why I am waking up, but now I'm sure it's because of mouth breathing.

Sorry, I had posted replys but I guess I missed the verification or something.Julie wrote:If you're thirsty all the time, yet also having to urinate a lot, I'd get a glucose tolerance test immediately as you could be either diabetic or pre-diabetic. Talk to your doctor if you think there's any chance of that... not everything's about OSA.

No, I have had a few sleep studies and never an issuekteague wrote:Ok, here come the questions...
Are the breaks on the charts due to turning the machine off with your wakeups?
Yes
Do you use a ramp feature on your machine? If so, how long is it set for and what pressure?
I believe its 10 minutes and ramps from 4 to 6.5
In the breaks in treatment are you going to the bathroom?
2 to 3 times since I drink so much water for the dry throat.
Is there any reason to believe your legs are real active when you sleep?

How do you do that in sleepyhead?musculus wrote:I see that your respiratory rate drop sharply before you waking up. It may indicate the waking up is due to obstructive event. Can you show the airflow of one such epoch?

No, not really. My cortisol is high and some hormones are low, like testosterone and estradiol. That and GERD/Acid Reflux are my main issues.JDS74 wrote:HanzT:
Do you have anything similar going on while you are awake? Sweats, flushing, etc.?
Anything that happens on a similar interval?

There are a couple of ways. If you left click on an event in the event flag section on top (or, on any other chart), it will center the charts around that event. Continuing to click on the same event will narrow the time selected, effectively expanding the views of the chart. The one musculus was asking to see was the flow rate chart. If you narrow the time to less than 10 minutes, that should be satisfactory.HanzT wrote:Could you please tell me how to do that? I don't know. thanks
