I have and use nightly the S9.
The pressure is set at a constant 9.
I picked up a S8, to leave at my cabin.
I set the pressure at 8.6.
However, I can't sleep with this unit. It's like I can't exhale.
Using a full mask. Any idea what's going on?
Thanks

Re: Resmed S8 vs S9
Are you using the same EPR setting on both machines? Are you using ramp?

What's EPR stand for?
I have the ramp turned off on both machines.

Re: Resmed S8 vs S9
EPR is the exhale pressure relief feature (you'll need to look at your menu or manual for it) and you set it high or low according to what you need. You may find though that a higher setting raises your AHI a little, but that's standard, so play with it until you get the right balance for you.
Re: Resmed S8 vs S9
Julie,
The EPR on my S9 is 1
On the S8 Escape machine, I don't think you can set it.
I know how to get into the clinical settings on both.
And they don't even show an EPR on the S8 Escape.
That may be the problem, I'm used to the low EPR.

Re: Resmed S8 vs S9
The S8 Escape does have an EPR setting. Isn't EPR stamped on the top of the machine? Here is a video that may help you.....

Re: Resmed S8 vs S9
Mine isn't the Escape II, and it doesn't have EPR on the top of the machine.

Re: Resmed S8 vs S9
lower your pressure by 1cm to get much of the effects of epr1Bitman wrote:Mine isn't the Escape II, and it doesn't have EPR on the top of the machine.
