I'm a newby, but I'm finding my Sleepyhead data very interesting and helping me to understand the need, but I'm not really sleeping any longer. I also see why it was so difficult for the Doctors to diagnose my problems, a very complex set of issues. One night, my snore index is high, another it's obstructive apnea, and another it's too slow respiration (hypopnea?) and some nights it's none of the above! I am trying a full face cushion on nights my nose is stuffy due to allergies--I hate when the air blows my lips open and the feel of the air blowing the wrong way through my sinuses, lol. My jaw doesn't drop open, but the high air flow actually pushes my lips apart.
I started the machine on July 25, 2014, but I'm still waking with the irresistable urge to urinate--so much so that if I don't wear a pad, I'd be dripping down my leg. I read the posting about the hormones that cause this and am thinking that's what is going on. I did get back to sleep this morning and when I woke 3 hr later, I hardly could generate a few drops. That almost never happens! If I don't get up and to the toilet immediately every morning, I'm in trouble. Today was a first exception. I will count it as a trend if I get more second time ups without the urge. The nice thing is my total sleep time last night was actually OVER 8 hr which never happens to me either! I did have to take a small dose of Lunesta to do that which I do when I'm experiencing extreme fatigue and not able to sleep more than 4 hr. I guess small improvements are what I can expect. I still have a few weeks before I see my doctor. I will take my card with me so he can read it. He is a sleep specialist, so I won't be surprised if he hasn't already checked my machine on multiple occasions.
I really hate that my insurance can get the data off my machine to verify that I'm using it. That makes me feel a little bit violated. I understand why they feel the need to do that, but still...my RT even made a comment about my sleep times, but who cares if I sleep from 11 pm to 3 am or 3 am to 7 am? It doesn't matter, I'm normally going to only sleep about 4 hr.
I just wanted to check in. Hope you are all doing ok. Thanks again for your previous support, it did help a lot. At least I know that my machine is functioning correctly, lol. I'm just the defect, hahaha!!
