Ive always been a big ebay person, does yahoo allow cpap auctions?? Are they easy to use?? many thanks:) oh and can you use payment other than a credit card??
yahoo
go to yahoo- auctions- search cpap.
it is all explained there.
Yes, they do allow cpap to be sold there.
You can always arrange with the seller for payment.
I am still not convinced that CPAP require a rx in the same sense that penicillin does.
DMEs are NOT licensed to dispense prescription.
They can fill ORDERS, not prescriptions

The amusing thing about Yahoo auctions is that they are supported by Paypal which is a subsidiary of eBay.
Yahoo seem to be ok. I had 1 problem there where the seller of an AUTO became deregistered after I won the item & I couldn't pay them & their email address kept coming back as not known on Yahoo's server.
I posted negative feedback 2 weeks later then later got a 'please explain' from Yahoo as to why I hadn't paid the seller. I sent them a very terse reply
Later the seller reappeared & relisted the item. But the good thing for me was I didn't lose any money.
I would advise anyone dealing on eBay or Yahoo, to be very very careful about sending money other than thru a service like paypal. Paypal do offer insurance & it covers both eBay and Yahoo but *only* if you purchased the item through a listed Auction. Paypal won't insure money transfers for non-auction payments.
In summary, I have bought quite a collection of masks and machines from Yahoo (Cpaps, Autos, Bilevels, museum pieces ) and apart from the one issue mentioned, have had a very good run there.
Good luck

It does require an RX, just as oxygen does.

DME_GUY,
Even though I do have a script, I have never had to use it to buy or sell on Yahoo Auction. The RX law for CPAPs serves no good purpose...and its
non-enforceable for a person to person sale, just as a resident to resident gun sale is legal..All this country needs are some more stupid laws...

Be aware that Yahoo & eBay are in discussions re possible consolidation of some facilities and systems (possibly because they both see Google as a growing threat).
If Yahoo Auctions got merged into eBay then I believe eBay will kill the current sales of xPAP gear just as they do on their own site today.

DSM_Guest - OK, for the sake of argument, lets assume eGay buys Yahoo Auction, later this week, and used & overstock xPAPs are forbidden to be sold on Yahoo Auction, the following week. Where could I find a good price on an overstocked RemStar Pro 2?
Answer = Sell.com. The buyers will find the markets, and the markets will find the buyers.
As I said before, stupid, unenforceable, law....In fact, cpap dot com could get a piece of this action by taking trade-ins, refurbish them, and offer some of them for sale (to script holders) on their web-site. Furthermore, they might also push some (no script) out the back door to Sell dot com.
Many of the current xPAP user/owners are well into their 'golden years', when a xPAP user/owner dies, what will become of their machines? Are the xPAP machines to be buried with them?
Now lets discuss the hypocritical service called eBay. Did you know:
1) eBay does not allow xPAP masks. Why? I don't know, there appears to be no legal reason.
2) eBay does not allow firearms to be sold on eBay?
3) eBay does operate (not own) Gunbroker.com Gunbroker dot com is a firearms auction site.
4) You can buy a firearm with PayPal! (As long as you don't tell them why you sent money to Daves Guns.)
xPAPs are no more dangerous than curling irons. So why are they regulated?

I doubt cpap.com would touch refurbishing xpap in our society of litigation their necks would be stuck wayyyy out.
taking machines in trade and sell overseas would work.
Hell the US is still helping to develope markets for the tabacco industry overseas.
Nicotine may be helpfull in some ways... but, inhaling burning hot gases or sucking on some material between cheek and gum for hours just can't be good.

Sounds like you're talking about our immigration laws.

Just to add what I know to be true. The FDA policy is that CPAP machines and masks require a prescription. Any Used Medical equipment sold has to be in its original packaging with all its manuals and stuff or it’s not legal. Most states require a CPAP to be set by a individuals credentialed as a RN, or RRT or at least some one signed off by one. So how even if you did get a prescription from some one buying your CPAP would you set it legally speaking. Best bet is to sell it to a refurbisher of medical equipment and be done with it.

oh my goodness you are soo smart, i wonder how long it took you to dig up all that info? who are you really and why are you here? you may need a prescription to buy one new, but the law about not selling it second hand is totally unenforceable, what are you gonna do, slap their hand and tell them not to do it anymore? puhlease, their aren't enough used machines flying around to even bother with cracking down on them, you make it sound like your a drug dealer if you sell off your old equipment, whatever, i'm sure your a perfect little angel when it comes to not breaking the law, why don't you stop hiding behind guest? bingo, may you be? strong the force is with this one.
