Hello switched from nasal mask to nasal pillows
I just switched from and F&P eson mask to the F&P opus 360 because the bridge between my eye's kept hurting any who I really like the new mask but I notice it blows a lot more air out of the exhale port thing is that normal? I did set my machine to nasal pillows
Re: Hello switched from nasal mask to nasal pillows
I've not used the Opus 360, but have used a Swift LT which is similar, being a nasal pillow mask with somewhat of a 'frame' structure. My LT did blow more exhaust than a previous nasal mask. I think I remember that more because now I'm using the AirFit P10 & it is new & has almost no exhaust air stream because its diffused differently than prior masks.
If the Opus works for you, once you've used nasal pillows awhile, you might want to try the P10, it has almost no headgear & almost no exhale air stream.
I used a nasal mask for years, suffered with sores on the bridge of my nose, bandaids etc. Then I found this forum & learned its not normal to have your mask rub your nose raw. In fact I learned your mask can be comfortable. I encourage anyone experiencing discomfort to try another mask. Therapy can be comfortable, I just wish I had found this forum years earlier.
If you have any issues/questions, post them here & someone will try to help you with the transition.

Re: Hello switched from nasal mask to nasal pillows
The amount of air that blows out the vent holes can and will vary between the various models of masks. Not unusual for it to feel different with different masks.
I think the Eson also had a new more diffused venting system as it is much newer than the Opus. So it would stand to reason that the Eson vented air wouldn't feel quite as strong.
The ResMed AirFit P10 nasal pillow mask also has the new diffused venting system and there's a huge difference between that venting than with the previous Swift FX nasal pillow mask. If you get a chance to try it you might like it.
