s10 or s9 autoset?
s10 or s9 autoset?
which one would you recommend? are these like cars, where new models might not work great? the thing i like about s9 is it looks smaller without the humidifier than the s10 would be, and would take less space to pack if you don't use the supplied carrying case. i just got a 9 but can switch to 10 if i do it quick. which would you get?

If you poke around the recent pages of threads, there have been some discussions about the new models.dougndoug wrote:which one would you recommend? are these like cars, where new models might not work great? the thing i like about s9 is it looks smaller without the humidifier than the s10 would be, and would take less space to pack if you don't use the supplied carrying case. i just got a 9 but can switch to 10 if i do it quick. which would you get?
I can't comment on which one because I'm using some fine old Respironics "Legacy" machines and don't plan on upgrading anytime in the future.

Go for the 10, but expect some push back.
Suppliers may be hot to get the S9's out of the warehouse.
All the more reason to go for the AS10.
Just make sure it is an AutoSet.
Some folks have complained about a hooting sound from the S9's,
And the AS10 has even more data-- unless you get the "CPAP". --Don't!
Edit: just my opinion, since I'm still waiting for mine.

I don't see a lot of reason to switch to the A10 now that you've got the S9. If I were buying one right now, I'd probably say it's a toss up.
Right now, SleepyHead doesn't work with the A10 (yet), but ResScan does. We don't have a lot of experience with the A10 and know its ins and outs, or have a track record for it.
Long term, I think the A10 will be at least as good as the S9, but there aren't a lot of obvious big improvements. Also, don't forget that the S9 is a darn fine machine with a long track record.
