Now my decision is which one to purchase, another S-9, or something less pricy like this-

IntelliPAP Standard Travel CPAP Machine

I don't use humidifier, but the rep at CPAP.com said this was a quiet machine, and lists for $308 (vs. $724 for an S-9)

Any thoughts?
I suggest a ResMed A10, S9, or a PRS1 machine over the Intellipap. You have to pay extra for the data module for the intellipap, and the data collection is better on the ResMed or PRS1 machines.

Be sure to get the right model, though. Get the ResMed Elite or better or the PRS1 Pro or better.

I think an Auto machine is worth the small additional cost. You can always use it as a manual CPAP if that works better for you.

My original prescrip a couple of years ago was for a 7 year term. No issues at all using it online when I was paying out of pocket.
My current insurance, Antem BCBS, requires a new prescrip every year! And the prescrip has to specify which mask and machine I am to get instead of being whatever I and the DME work out.
PITA.

I have Anthem BCBS and they just took a generic script since the Sleep Dr had no idea what type of mask I would be using. It clearly specifies the mask to be of the patents choosing.

The billing from the DME would be from them, using the RX the Dr provided. I will only see the Sleep DR once a year if even then.

If I needed another machine, it is doubtful I would go through insurance for it within the next 3 years when they would pay for one anyway. Most likely would get one from another source as they are cheaper unless I have already had major medical expenses that year already.

If there was a real issue, I would just have my PCP write it. She has already indicated it would be no issue.
