Perhaps the forum members could help you troubleshoot your cpap problems?

I'm confused as to most of what you said.
Who lowers your pressure? You put your clap on? As far as sleeping masked up, it's like specialty cheese. It's an acquired thing. Something to get used to. I'm almost a year in, and still have some minor issues.

There are a few of us on this forum who use xPAP and are either are under DOT compliance rulings or are with someone who is. Hopefully you can clarify your issues and get some solid answers.

What is your pressure (or pressures if on autopap rather than cpap) set at and what was your original prescribed pressure? Which machine and mask do you use? It is possible that if you're on an auto machine that the pressure changes overnight - not the ones 'they' have made lower - wake you up and that a change to a plain cpap (vs apap) would be better. But we can only help you if we know what you're working with - equipment plus pressures, etc.

This problem sounds very familiar.
If you can use your cpap while watching TV or reading, it will add time to your compliance record,
while helping you to get used to it. (It can't tell if you are sleeping or not--)
Please let us know the model of cpap machine you have, plus the pressure(s) it is set at.
This type of problem is often very easy to solve with a simple adjustment. And time/practice.

This is a common topic on this forum. You can easily do a forum search for the terms FMCSA and DOT regulations, you might add apnea to the search entry... you don't have to put in anything but the words themselves, no '+' or '-' symbols required. The search window is in the upper left corner just under the logo for the forum. I tried it and got many dozens of pages of hits.

example: DOT regulations apnea

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
