Causes and solution for my aerophagia?

Post by Maxman190 » Tue Apr 14, 2015 11:55 pm

Alright so, aerophagia doesn't usually happen for me. It usually only happens once every bi-weekly or tri-weekly. The setting has always been the same for the past year or so. I just woke up today with the most painful one yet that I couldn't fall back asleep. I read on some article that it's just because my body hasn't adjusted to the pressure setting, but I've been using the same setting for the past year.

Usually before the aerophagia would happen that night, I'd find myself waking up while I was sitting up, then when I do wake up to that, I just lay back down, then my aerophagia happens. --- Would sitting up while sleeping with my machine prevent aerophagia?

My head is elevated, I use a full face mask with a chin strap, I'm going to temporarily lower my IPAP and EPAP pressure by 2. What can be the cause of this??? I would go to my sleep doctor, but he doesn't seem like very competent person, I tried to explain this to him last time, but all he did was setting lowering the setting which we did, but it still happened again, and he wanted to lower it even more. Then, I told him that, that setting would not be strong enough for my apnea events, which caused me to wake up repeatedly each night. So, I just gave up on him.
