Pillows for side sleepers

Post by acctingman » Mon Mar 23, 2015 3:37 pm

Can anyone here who is a side sleeper share which pillow they prefer sleeping with?

Right now I have a couple cheepy $15 Costco pillows that just aren't cutting it and I need any help "comfort" I can scrounge up to make using my mask less irritating.

Thanks

I was using the Chiroflow (also called Mediflow) water-based pillow long before I started this therapy and it has worked well for me since. (also listed in my profile)

Regenesis Buckwheat Hull Pillow.....it's firm and you can shape it to fit you.

I also go with the buckwheat pillow. It took me a while to get used to, but it works well with the mask and I'd fight you before I gave it up.

I don't use it, but lots do - Pap Pillow (.com I think). It's got cutouts for masks.

I've used a water-filled pillow for years (not as sea-sicky as it sounds) for neck and upper back issues and it's really working well for me with the CPAP (so far).

Buckwheat pillows have worked well for me too. There is a pillow with millet on one side and buckwheat on another that I'm currently using. I've used several brands of pillows and all have served their purpose. I order some replacement hulls when I get the pillow so I can adjust the height and firmness to my liking. The support works well and allows you to position your mask off the edge. The rest or my family now uses them, even though they're not on CPAP.

I tried a cutout pillow, then tried a Sobakawa bead-filled pillow. Bought it at Bed,Bath,Beyond. It is formable to what is comfortable at the moment, and I'm very satisfied with it. I bought the smaller size since I don't have large shoulders, esp for a man. Suggest you give it a try... best of luck.
