Help me adjust pressure down

Post by nobody » Tue Mar 24, 2015 6:00 am

My AHI is consistently below 1 according to the machine. But in the mornings I wake up with severe stomach pain because of air swallowing during the night. I've also lost a lot of weight since starting CPAP (50lb) and am not overweight anymore. I'm thinking maybe if I adjust the pressure lower maybe I won't swallow so much air but I'll still get good treatment because my AHI is already really low. What do you think? Also it's been so long since I've made any adjustments on that machine that I don't remember how. Can anyone tell me? I have to push some button while plugging the power in, or something. At this point I guess it's an old machine.

Unplug the machine and plug it back in as you are holding the two arrow buttons. That will give you access to the setup menu.

I have a similar machine that you have and that is what I was told to do! Let me know if it works, if not someone here with way more knowledge then me can help!

For future reference here's a little quick start guide showing how to get to the setup menu and the available choices and yes...holding down the little 2 arrow buttons while plugging the machine in is what is done on the M series machines.

If you are not using AFlex exhale relief you might play with AFlex a little and see if the setting of 2 or 3 is comfortable for you. Sometimes adding in a little exhale relief will help with the aerophagia (air swallowing) issues.

I didn't like the AFlex at all when I tried it years ago so I put that out of my mind. It does have CFlex so I set that up to 2. It was on 1. I also adjusted my pressure down a little bit. AHI was still below 1 this morning and I did swallow some air but my stomach was not in any pain. So I'm going to try this out and see if how it goes over the next couple weeks. If still low AHI and no stomach pain I'll leave it.
