Do you turn the machine off during nocturnal wandering?
Re: Do you turn the machine off during nocturnal wandering?
When I started, I hated to turn it off for my wanderings as that meant I'd return to the starting pressure of 6. That was no longer a problem when I worked with the DME and doctor's office to raise the starting pressure to 8, which was close to my 90% pressure that was between 9-10.

I think this is a great question because I was also wondering as well. Lol. I had my fitting today and chose the Wisp mask and the RT showed and told me the exact same thing. To unclip the mask and just allow to hose to blow when getting up at night to visit the loo or whatever.

Re: Do you turn the machine off during nocturnal wandering?
The wisp mask is one of the ones that I'd consider leaving on when I left my bed, due to my difficulties in getting it fitted right *smile*. On the other hand, I wouldn't leave my cpap "blowing", ever, if I was awake enough to notice. Sleep data is one reason, the other is that I don't feel that it would help my cpap live longer to be running full out to compensate for having a full-on leak. I like to treat things well, and they tend to last longer as a result.Maryekatherine wrote:I think this is a great question because I was also wondering as well. Lol. I tried it once. DH complained. Once was enough.

Keep in mind some DMEs recommend leaving the machine blowing because consideration of machine data is not on their radar.
