FLUOROURACIL 0.5 % cream & full face cpap mask
FLUOROURACIL 0.5 % cream & full face cpap mask
I'm now in the 2nd week of a 4 week regimen for treatment of skin cancer. It's getting to be uncomfortable for me as my face, head, and neck are beginning to resemble raw hamburger. Anyone been through this? Should I keep attempting to use cpap for the next couple of weeks (my nightly ahi has gone up to average of 15 from normal of <1), or take a break until my head gets back to more normal?

Have you tried a mask liner?

I don't think it would help because it would still be riding/rubbing on my face.

I just finished this treatment about a month ago on top of my bald head and forehead to just above my eyebrows and yes it did look like raw meat and was sore. I was only required to do 3 weeks and stop. It will all peel off after awhile and be slick as a new born baby's butt, that's what my Doc said. The last week I just sleep in the recliner chair cause the mask hurt to much, it hurt even to touch it. Took about four weeks for it to all peel away and leave new skin. I put mine on when I went to bed at night and washed the area in the morning when I got up. It soaked in pretty quick when you put it on.

You might look at an oral mask until you heal....Oracle

Squid13, I'm doing the whole head & neck. My bald head is in that too. My childhood years had way too much sun exposure and my stint in SE Asia figures in too.

I was on 5% Fluorouracil cream and my face and forehead lit up with red raw skin, blisters that were painful and very sensitive to heat and cold. It was good that I could hide in the house during the 30 day treatment as I looked very scary. End results were baby smooth new skin. Hated the process, loved the results.
