Where to buy CPAP in Canada?

Post by romeCPAP » Wed Feb 18, 2015 12:52 pm

Hi there,

I can buy a CPAP locally for nearly $2,500 or Online for over half that.

I have found 2 online sites now, http://www.cpapmachinescanada.com/ and http://canadacpapsupply.com/ both have the Respironics System One Auto CPAP and Humidifier, which is the one I am looking at. On both websites it is about $900.

Has anyone used these websites before, or have another suggestion? For that big of a price difference I cannot justify buying locally.

Thanks.

do you have Craigslist in Canada? if not i think they can be shipped from the US .
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

Check secondwindcpap.com for a new open box machine or gently used. They will ship to Canada.
Right now I see a PR S1 Auto CPAP model 560 with humidifier...new open box...for $599.
http://www.secondwindcpap.com/Open_Box.html
I have used them and know many other who have used them both for the new open box deals and gently used.

I'll check them out. I wonder if my insurance covers open box.

As for Craigslist. It's not popular here, but Kijiji is. Some CPAP people want $1500 for...it's crazy. There have been some as low as $100 but I did not get them in time.

Coastalsleep.ca - cheaper than other dealers up here, but most of us buy from Cpap.com - no duty to pay because it's a med. device - if our insce. lets us ( you'd have to ask) and just send the invoice to your insce.

Thanks.
You don't mention the province your from, in Sask. my sleep center tried to sell me a $2500 machine but on the very last page of the info they gave me, was a little blurb about getting a machine through a program called 'SAIL'. Acronym for Sask. Aid for Independent Living. Little marketing trick by sleep center, hoping people would get tired of reading through the Sleep centers sheets of information, of various package offerings. Only on the last page did they mention the SAIL program for the free CPAP. Makes me wonder how many they get to go 'out of pocket' or, how many people submit bills for their overpriced machine to private insurance.

SAIL gave me a new Elite S9 for no cost whatsoever, just had to wait an extra week or two. Every province may be different. More detail (disclosing your province) may get you more detail on your specific province. Either way there is no need for anyone internet savvy to get 'hosed' (pun intended) for $2500. Sask. takes very good care of the handicapped in many areas (walkers, wheelchairs etc.) G'luck.

Have you dealt with them personally??

As for the location question, I'm in NS. I didn't see any free option...that would be crazy good.

CPAP.com will not sell any product that is Resmed or Respironics.

I have been getting Resmed products from them and I am in Nova Scotia. Where did you get that BS?

When did you last get a Resmed or Respironics machine or mask from cpap.com?

I used to get my Respironics machines from them. Both Resmed and Respironics have recently- well it's quite a while ago now - ruled that cpap.com, and other cpap providers online, cannot ship their machines and masks to individuals outside of the US.

You might want to try

http://www.canadacpapsupply.com

Also have heard good things about cpapclinic.ca

With our Canadian dollar so low, buying in Canada would be beneficial.

Resmed products can't be shipped to Canada. cpap.com is not the only one not able to ship to Canada. I used to get my Resmed masks from cpap.com until the rules changed. Now my sisters get them and ship to me. If you live near a border and have a post box in the US you can have it shipped there.
