Connecting the hose on RESMED

Post by cherylann » Wed Feb 04, 2015 2:16 pm

How do you connect the hose on the RESMED 9 if you are not using the humidifier? There is nothing for it to click to.

If you only have the heated hose, I think you can use it reversed.
There may be a lumpy bit up near your face, but I think it will work.

Hi;

I was hooking my hose on ResMed wrong, not connecting heat connection but it worked. You would have to turn humidity level down to zero. It usually is programmed at 4.
However, I would ask company supplying it if you can turn off humidity with hose plugged in correctly, don't want to hurt machine.

Just to make sure you're aware, there is a plain hose connection on the blower side of the machine, on the side where the blower and humidifier attach and detach. Separate the blower unit from the humidifier to use it.

Remove the Humidifier and you will see the place to connect the hose.

There's no electrical connection for the heated hose if you don't use the humidifier. You might make the mechanical connection work, but there will be no heat.

Unheated hoses are really cheap, so you may find it more convenient to get one of them. Pretty much any unheated hose works on any CPAP machine.

Be sure to try out the no humidity, no heat option at home to make sure it doesn't bother you too much.
