Life After CPAP -

Post by jnew71 » Mon Feb 02, 2015 7:29 pm

Anyone read this e-book that you can get on Amazon Kindle? Given all the issues I'm having with CPAP, it wasn't something I should have read. Paints a bleak picture of CPAP -

I read the part you could read for free. Not willing to spend $3 to read the rest. She makes some good points in the early chapter: OSA is hard to diagnose and not all OSA is alike or responds to the same treatment. She is correct - CPAP doesn't work for everybody. Dental appliances don't work for everybody (studies suggest they don't work for as many people as CPAP does). The thing I don't like about the book is that it is very much based on anecdotes and her personal experience. I didn't see any sort of reference to scientific studies in the first chapter and a half.

Maybe a better book would be, Untreated Sleep Apnea. It's a book about people who have sleep apnea, but don't have the will, to make simple changes to successfully treat it. They do have the ability to ignore major body damage and degraded health, as for them it's easier that using XPAP.

You can lead a horse to water, most are smart enough to drink, some aren't! Natural Selection has to sort it out. Free will! "Can't never succeeded doing anything!" Jim
