Constant 100% mask fit reading

Post by LHughes » Thu Jan 22, 2015 5:44 am

I have been using this machine (Philips System One 60 Series REMstar Auto A-Flex with humidifier) for several months and am generally pleased with the results. I use the manufacturer's Sleep Mapper program to review the data. Although the reported hours of use and AHI numbers vary and seem reasonable, the 'Mask Fit %' has been a constant 100%. The manufacturer's help line has been spectacularly unhelpful saying that 'the machine only records data when I am breathing' (??). It seems to me that a number that never changes is of no value and a waste to record and display. One other poster on the forum also reported a 100% mask fit reading, but no one responded whether this was normal.

I have the same machine. I went through a few different masks before getting comfort from my current one. The mask fitting has reported many different values. With my first mask I had it was as low as 40%-60%. I generally get around 97% now. It could be that you are getting the numbers you are because your leak rate is acceptable according to sleepmapper

There have been nights when I have gotten tangled in the hose, broken the seal, and woken my husband with the 'hurricane' noise, and, yet, still gotten a 100% make fit!

You might want to also use another program to view your data such as sleepyhead. I find sleepmapper to be very basic. Its more of a gold star system that gives trophies for just using the machine not to optimize your therapy. I think it's more of just a compliance tracker really.

you owe it to yourself to get sleepyhead and quit wasting your time with sleepmapper.
