prescription update issue - Just do it yourself! LOL
prescription update issue - Just do it yourself! LOL
Just in case this happens to you and just in case maybe its a new issue with the software let me explain what just happened to me. In case you run into it.
I had my prescription tweaked to see if I could help a mask issue. Mine was extremely high staring out at 25cm and 21cm, I'm a brand new user as well so still experimenting. However my numbers are good and well under control right off the bat. Went form a AHI of 133 during testing to 1's and 2's right away.
But the mask has been an issue. I can't get a confident seal without over tightening.
So the Doctor authorized a reduction to 22cm and 18cm to see how that goes. So I went and picked up a new SD card with the new prescription on it... supposedly...
I ran two nights on this before I realized there had been no reduction. I hadn't noticed that until the second day looking at Sleepyhead. And then I confirmed it on the machine display. Called and asked whats up?
The provider apparently had not noticed a pop up, that he says is new. It said "send to SleepMapper". And he hadn't sent it and now it appears the actual update occurred when I reinserted my card into my computer opening SleepMapper. Which is no good for much else really but may or may not be an important step he missed... and you may miss.... if this step is crucial in updating your prescription to your machine.
After he sent that info by clicking that block in the pop up, and I reinserted my card and opened SleepMapper... the machine now shows different settings.
Just FYI.

Re: FYI Respironics software prescription update issue.
It's just so much easier to input the settings directly on the machine. Seems like a lot of trouble to go through for a simple pressure change. Good luck with the new pressure and mask leaks.

Not sure I understand how packing up the machine and taking it to them is easier than just getting a new SD card? I don't have access to any ability to change the settings on this BiPap myself. Thats not an option.

Well you do have access, you're just not using it.

Re: FYI Respironics software prescription update issue.
If you are capable of operating the remote on your TV, you should be able to change the pressure on your machine. It takes seconds.
You don't have to run to the doctor. You need the Clinical Manual which is available on line.

changing the settings involves pushing a button and turning and pushing a knob.cphilip wrote: I don't have access to any ability to change the settings on this BiPap myself. Thats not an option.
the instructions are readily available, should you want them. but that's up to you.

I've scrolled through every option on the dial and yet cannot find that one. Perhaps they have removed it?
I am in a compliance period for the machine. Ill do some digging and see what your talking about.

Look in the links section of my signature line below. There's a CPAP setup manuals pointer to get the secret manuals that tell you how to change pressure, etc.

Re: FYI Respironics software prescription update issue.
So probably this secret trick then?
...Turn the wheel to toggle between the 4 options and highlight "setup". Once setup is highlighted press and hold both the control wheel and ramp button on the device for at least 5 seconds. You will hear a double beep and the provider mode screen will appear...
Let me go experiment with this... Ill report back when I have obtained my new found super powers...

Holy Smokes! Works like a charm. I left it where it is now though but I feel empowered... and just felt one testicle swell just a tad.

Apologies for not pointing you to the solution immediately. We repeat the instruction so often, it's hard to remember so many who come here don't have this information.

Re: prescription update issue - Just do it yourself! LOL
NO problem. I had no idea to even ask. I just ASSumed it would be blocked from my use. I guess I could have at least wondered if it was possible and done a simple search. Seems obvious NOW...
And my provider is a bit on the incompetent side. But then again he wouldn't have told me nor would my Doctor. This guy wanted me to complete his customer service survey on day one. Seemed shocked I said I would take it with me. He asked my why I didn't want to do it right then. I told him I wasn't through with him yet. I still have it... and its blank.
Note I changed the title to reflect my newbyness.... Hang on folks.. watch me learn! Old Dog masters new trick

Customer service survey? Hmm...I don't recall ever having one. I wonder if that's got anything to do with my rotten attitude toward their lousy services?Krelvin wrote:Mine from Sep is sitting on my desk.cphilip wrote:This guy wanted me to complete his customer service survey on day one.
