Got my new 960 ASV blower unit
Got my new 960 ASV blower unit
In December my blower unit began to not provide enough power to the humidifier.
I sent the unit to Accurate Biomed for repair. They determined that it was a warranty issue and sent it back to Respironics for replacement.
The replacement arrived today with a soft case, hose, power cord, AND the start of a new two year warranty.
Accurate Biomed and Respironics are wonderful to do business with.
BTW Accbio handles ResMed as well.

Sounds like a good way to get repairs. How long were you without your machine? Hope you had a standby!

Re: Got my new 960 ASV blower unit
I got a backup unit before I sent the old one off.
Accurate Biomed estimated that if it was a warranty issue, it might take 4 to 6 weeks given shipping to and from Respironics.
This is my second transaction with them and they have been perfect each time.

Re: Got my new 960 ASV blower unit
What unit did you have before the 960?
I have a 960 that's about 1.5 years old. I know it's anything guess, but I am curious how long it will go for without a problem.

Re: Got my new 960 ASV blower unit
I am curious what the symptoms were. I think I may have some humidifier issues with my 960 as well.
My humidifier does not use a lot of water, much less than 1/4 of a tank per night. It is turned all the way up. It does not seem to be causing any problems, and my pressure and flow rate are very low, so it may not be an issue. In fact, I emptied the tank during a recent cold spell due to excess condensation in my mask.
It seems when I first got the unit that having it cranked all the way up produced something akin to breathing jungle air. It certainly does not do that anymore.

Read the following post. It describes what I think was going on. At least the Accurate Biomed folks were familiar with the symptoms.

so, you're saying that the 960 had the same problem as the 50 series with bad internal connections?JDS74 wrote:Read the following post. It describes what I think was going on. At least the Accurate Biomed folks were familiar with the symptoms.

No. I described the symptoms to them and mentioned this post and they were familiar with the symptoms.
Because the machine was under warranty, I didn't look inside.
Whatever they found, it qualified for replacement under warranty.
They never told me what they found.
