your teeth aren't airtight, and that's all that a chinstrap keeps closed.
The op asked if a chin strap can solve the problem of opening your mouth while sleeping... in my experience it does and my leak rate has been zero ever since wearing one. Without the chin strap i'd wake up with air gushing out of my mouth... not anymore.

AVi123... mine is the CareFusion PureSom ruby adjustable #TMS-09ADJ (the one on the right in that video.) I think the lighting/camera made it appear red... it's actually burgandy. I believe the only difference is yours is XL.

I'm glad for you, however, Julie's answer is still correct, there are, if you either read old posts here, or hang around, *LOTS* of people who still end up with dry mouth, high leaks AND are wearing a chin strap, because that doesn't keep air from coming out around the lips.

none of this, of course, is an issue if one's throat does what it should and routes the air where it needs to go.

I, and many others, can open my mouth, and stick out my tongue, while breathing at pressure through nasal pillows, and have no air escape through my mouth.

Doing that while awake isn't the problem... most people are able to do that like you mentioned. Doing it while asleep is another story. lol...

OffroadToy, you can put palerider on your foe list as I did. But there is no way that would stop his attacks on you even then.

if you'd like to have a non-sarcastic toned discussion about how many people can use a nasal or pillow mask without taping their mouths, or a chin strap, vs those that use a chin strap and still have mouth leaks, vs those that have to result to taping or a sweatband across the lips to hold 'em closed because they can't do the throat thing... I'd be perfectly happy to participate... but, I don't get the impression that's what you'd like to do. I could be wrong.
bunky huh? Wow. Like i mentioned before don't take it personally... the eyerolll and lol wasn't directed at you, it was meant for myself not being able to keep my mouth closed when i'm asleep. Jumping to conclusions is sometimes not the best thing. Your childish behavior is really starting to show now. Let it go dude. This is a great forum with alot of nice members and from what i've read it appears i'm not the only one that has an issue with you. Let it go... please let it go. Please stop it.

Thanks avi. I'll look into that. If it continues i'll just have the administrator delete my account as i'm not going to waste any more of my time dealing with this guy.
