My cat is freaked out by my mask and won't come near me when I have it on, I like having her with me at night, particularly as her purring helps me fall asleep. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it?
Also, pillows - how much elevation is best when using CPAP or is it better to be completely flat? I usually use two, one very firm to give slight elevation, and one soft fluffy one, so I don't feel like im sleeping on a rock.
Couple of questions...

Re: Couple of questions...
Give your cat some time. In the meanwhile, get prepared for when she no longer fears the mask,
-----and tries to bite it! You may also consider the possibility that sometimes kitties will step on the power button,
and you now have time to rig a shield.

Re: Couple of questions...
Ahead on that one ... I have it on a low shelf on my nightstand and she can't get to the power button. Lol It protects the machine well, but I do worry about the future of the hose, was thinking about crocheting it a long "sock" to put over it.
Re: Couple of questions...
Use whatever combination of bed pillows that you happen to prefer and are comfortable with and sleep better with.
There is no need to change your routine or bed pillows unless there is a problem.
The kitty will adjust with time...and may even get like my kitty who likes to feel the air venting on her face. And in my situation with my current mask..that means she is about 2 inches from my face and it gets a bit annoying when she is that close because she also likes to do the paw kneading thing which means the claw thing and that hurts..
My kitty isn't interested in the hose at all but there are relatively cheap hose covers or you could knit one if you do that sort of thing
But if they really want to play with the hose...nothing is likely to be thick enough to prevent teeth punctures if kitty plays rough.

Re: Couple of questions...
+5 - my first two short hoses are patched nearly the full length with duct tape *le sigh* A hose cozy is a good investment, and not terribly expensive. I am ordering one for the short hose this week...chunkyfrog wrote:Give your cat some time. In the meanwhile, get prepared for when she no longer fears the mask,

Re: Couple of questions...
My cat has gotten used to the mask. She does not like the air from the vent of the mask.
She basically moved down the bed a bit; however when it is time for breakfast.... mask or no mask she manages to get me up.
I wish you well

Re: Couple of questions...
LOL, we have 4 cats. I had my machine for less than a week when I noticed the first set of holes. Duct taped until the replacement came in. Now I put the hose in a drawer when not in use. The cat will come around.. maybe a bit too much!RicaLynn wrote:+5 - my first two short hoses are patched nearly the full length with duct tape *le sigh* A hose cozy is a good investment, and not terribly expensive.
