Replacement straps for Remstar pro 2 nasal pillow?
Replacement straps for Remstar pro 2 nasal pillow?
I'm using my friend's old Remstar pro2 C-flex with nasal pillow headgear and the straps broke. I'm not sure at all the model of the nasal pillows. Can you guys possibly recommend me a replacement strap so that I can resume using the machine? Thanks.

Post a pic or check cpap.com if you're dead set on buying identical headgear. Otherwise it doesn't matter. It's about comfort. Craigslist will probably also have cpap headgear and masks.

I only need the replacement strap, if that's even possible. The nasal pillow itself etc is all fine. Just the strap that goes around the back of my head broke.Tatooed Lady wrote:Post a pic or check cpap.com if you're dead set on buying identical headgear. Otherwise it doesn't matter. in either event, go on cpap.com and find the mask you have, then order a strap from them. there's literally *dozens* of different models.

Oops, I misunderstood. No disrespect intended! I'll go to cpap.com, thanks!
Re: Replacement straps for Remstar pro 2 nasal pillow?
It depends on which mask model as to which back strap you are talking about.
Example...the Swift FX nasal pillow mask has a back strap but it's hard to find just the back strap without the silicone headgear.
You might look on EBay for just a back strap. I looked the other day (for Swift FX) and couldn't find a back strap without the headgear but there may be one listed now.
You need to identify exactly which mask you are talking about though because the back strap can vary with each different nasal pillow mask.
Without knowing exactly which mask you are using we can't help much. There's a wide variety of nasal pillow masks out there that use a wide variety of different back straps.
If you can tell me exactly which model nasal pillow mask you have...I might have a back strap only that you can just have.

I'm not sure of the nasal pillow type because this is a machine (and mask) I got from my friend. I Could ask him but I doubt he knows, as he hasn't used it in years.Pugsy wrote:It depends on which mask model as to which back strap you are talking about.

go looking on web sites for something that looks *exactly* the same, if you can't find any writing on the mask.RyanMW wrote: I'm not sure of the nasal pillow type because this is a machine (and mask) I got from my friend. I Could ask him but I doubt he knows, as he hasn't used it in years.
alternatively, you may just have to buy a new mask, or the parts for one and assemble it.

Re: Replacement straps for Remstar pro 2 nasal pillow?
There should be a brand name somewhere on the mask.
Then go to cpap.com and look in the nasal pillow masks till you find one that looks like what you are using.
Masks aren't supplied with machines...so it's not something that would have been a package deal with his machine.
https://www.cpap.com/cpap-masks/nasal-p ... p-mask.php
take a stroll through the nasal pillow masks at this link and see if you spot it.
Or take a picture of the mask and post it here on the forum and we can probably tell you which mask it is.
How to post screen shots is talked about in this thread.

If the mask is more than 4 years old then it won't be one of the newer masks and the Remstar Pro 2 was discontinued in 2007...so unless he got the mask since then the choices are going to be very limited as a lot of those really old masks have also been discontinued.
You could probably do a temporary repair on the back strap. Gorilla glue or something like that might hold especially if you do a little stitching.

Hey...if you like it and want to continue to use it... I have one you can just have.
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... dgear.html
It's not the original but it's the "improved" II version and I don't know how or what makes it any different but I have a complete mask setup for the Mirage Swift II that I would be happy to have it get out of my house.
Send me a private message with name and address and I will try to drop it off at the post office tomorrow. At least the plan is to get to town tomorrow (I live out in the country so I don't go to town unless I have multiple reasons).
Someone donated it a while back but it looks like it was never used or if used it was barely used.
I use USPS Priority mail for all my mask shipping because that way I get tracking and insurance included.
I will be honest...nasal pillow masks have improved by leaps and bounds since this particular mask was new but if you like it...it's free and you can maybe save your money for a different newer nasal pillow mask at a later date.
If I had a complete nasal pillow mask in one of the newer styles I would let you have one of those also...but all I have is bits and pieces..though I have an idea how you could maybe build a Swift FX nasal pillow mask. I have all but one part for you to build it yourself and fortunately...the part I am missing is the cheaper headgear and not the short hose.
