Hello forum,
I have been using a Resmed S9 Elite for the last 4 years. I want to measure my oxygen levels and need some direction on how best to do this. Should I buy an oximeter separately or buy an S9 compatible oximeter? Can you also tell me the approximate costs for both?
Thanks in advance!!

The 50D Plus (the + is important) is really all you need, and is quite inexpensive.
I'm not personally aware of oximeters that 'go' with any particular cpap machines, but others might be. The above one is fairly popular and the company good to deal with. Please realize that we (on this forum) have no connection whatever to any business, but can recommend individual products if we choose, though trying to sell anything here but second-hand Cpap equipment is not allowed. We're all just patients sharing our apnea experiences to help each other.

I recommend one of the wrist mounted ones, the cms50 F or I model, they're much more convenient, and they don't eat batteries like the D+ does. you can get either of them for under 100$ from aliexpress.com.Julie wrote:http://www.pulseoxstore.com/Downloadable-Pulse-Ox.html

the resmed 'official' oximeter is a collection of very expensive parts totalling over 1000$ last I heard.

Re: Oximeter for Resmed S9 Elite
I will add that some of the decision needs to be based on how much you intend to use the oximeter. But that may be unknown at this time.
I have the 50D+. In all honesty, I have not been able to use it continually for a full 8 hours, but I did use it for enough hours to check my oxygen levels against some pretty bad OSA clusters that I was getting.
Things have settled down since then and I have not used it for over 6 months.
From what I have read, the 50F may be more comfortable because you don't have a couple of AAA batteries hanging off the end of your finger. If you plan on using the oximeter on an ongoing basis, that may be a factor.
I think they both sync with sleepyhead, but I didn't have any problems using Rescan and the separate oximeter software to get a good enough approximation of oxygen levels to events based on start times. By approximate I mean, 90 minutes in I have a half a dozen or more OSA events clustered together and at about 90 minutes in my oxygen levels fell below 90%.

Thank you all so much for the responses. I will research those options tonight and buy one of them.

I have the cms50i and a d+ I like the i much better, it time stamps the sessions, and it records multiple sessions, (the f only records one, and erases it when you start recording again)karthikvprasad wrote:Thank you all so much for the responses.
