Resmed Mirage Liberty - hard on the nose

Post by redpenner » Mon Dec 01, 2014 1:02 am

I'm into my third month of CPAP therapy, alternating (more-or-less) between a Swift FX nasal pillow (size M) and a Resmed Mirage Liberty hybrid (size S) depending on the status of my nasal allergies on any given night. I couldn't tolerate a traditional full face mask because nothing could stop the leaks into my eyes. I like the Liberty - very few leakage problems - but the design of the nasal pillows is just weird. On the Swift FX the pillows are on short little "stalks", but on the Liberty they are on really long "stalks", and when the mask part is fitting correctly, the pillows push up on my nose quite forcefully, smushing it upward. I'd love to have it sit fairly lightly, like pillows are supposed to, but there just doesn't seem to be any way to accomplish that while keeping the mask portion over my mouth. The Liberty's "Small" pillows seem awfully large. I wish they would sell them in XS!

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, are there any workarounds?
