Need an Autopap but do not have insurance

Post by lizs18 » Sat Nov 29, 2014 2:41 pm

Does anyone have an old autopap they could send me? I was directed here by a friend. She suggested I try to post here asking for a used autopap. I've also started a medical fundraiser and I'm about halfway to getting an autopap on my own in case anyone wants to donate or share on social media, here is the link. http://www.gofundme.com/lizsuellentrop

Thank you for any help, resources or advice you can provide!

Try looking on Craigslist. If you are halfway to buying a new one, you probably have enough for a used one already. I've seen some in the $200-400 range on Craigslist. Older versions are even cheaper.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

I have a PR550 with humidifier and hose 3300 hrs. lined up for someone else and they can not afford it right now. So if you want it for $110 shipped to you let me know.

Yeah...that's fantastic. Saw the thread with a title like that earlier. The OP here, however, is PROBABLY not looking to blow $600. I seem to recall seeing that she was sent here by a friend (usually means looking for something decent but CHEAP), is scraping together funds for a machine, and is about HALFWAY there (also, probably NOT going to have $600 in hand at the moment), has NO INSURANCE...AND is looking for DONATIONS to a medical fundraiser, which, I would have to assume, ALSO just about screams "I DON'T HAVE $600 TO SPEND ON A MACHINE!!"

Now...if I'm WRONG, and she has that kind of cash to throw at you for the lovely shiny new machine you're trying to hard sell on this site, then I apologize. But I'm pessimistic when it counts, so I would have to say she would probably take a pass, thanks for asking.

PS- Must be a pre-PMS evening...

On her donation site she states she needs a CPAP but here she talks about needing an Autopap.
What does she need ? And although most of us here want a data capable machine and probably an
auto as well it could be all she needs is a basic CPAP . In that case she could probably pick one up
for little or no money. Did she have a sleep study done and what type mask will she need?

PMS may have not have brought out the best in me, but it was usually the truth--and needed to be said.
Feelings may have been hurt, but it was how I could wind up to generate a well-deserved KITA!
These days I have to express my inner crone. Thank you for beating me to the punch!

Froggy, my boyfriend usually sees PMS and recognizes it in me before I do. But that post...A sledgehammer of a signal to me. Lol.

Besides money? I assume the APAP request is so the machine can figure out best pressure range without having to do an expensive sleep study.

PR, methinks you maybe been spot on...no shaming me to behave over the pap ape.
