New to all of this . . . .

Post by kwkone » Fri Jul 21, 2006 5:18 pm

I am a real newbie at all of this.
I didn't have any "daytime" symptoms of sleep apnea. I normally fall asleep within 15 minutes of going to bed and don't wake up (that I know of) until the alarm goes off. I don't feel tired during the day, I don't fall asleep in meetings, etc.

I had a sleep study done after my oral surgeon had a problem when I was under anesthesia.

I have been using my CPAP at 12cm for 3 nights now. Now I wake up 4 or 5 times a night, and I get up completely exhausted. Today has been so bad, that I was worried about driving.

I called my Dr. and left a message about my issues. His nurse called later and said that he was faxing a prescription to the RT to adjust the level down to 10cm.

The really frustrating part is that the RT called me 5 minutes before they closed for the weekend to ask when I want it adjusted. I told him that I would be out of town business all next week so now it has to wait until the 31st.

I guess we'll see after that if this is going to work out.

Jim

Gosh, I'll have to see if I can guess what the key combination is . . . .

Maybe I'll try this one more night and see what happens.

Well last night was better for me. My pressure was adjusted from 12 down to 10. I'm not sure of the benefits yet. My wife said that I snored pretty steady through the night. I felt more normal today though.

If your Snoring with a FF Mask OR a Nasel mask and are taping your mouth, you aren't leaking so your pressure is usually too low.

But if you are using Nasel without taping, you may be mouthbreathing anf loosing your treatment. Jim
