The ST-A is a special machine usually for treatment of respiratory insufficiency diseases (COPD, cystic fibrosis, neuromuscular disorders). It's analogous to the Respironics AVAPS and works by adjusting pressure support until an average tidal volume is met.
Dos the ST-A say iVAPS on it below the dial?
VPAP auto is more oriented towards obstructive sleep apnea. It doesn't have a timed breath mode.
