Never tried re-mailing. From TO it would be relatively easy to go pick up medical equipment across the border. Likely this seller is arbitraging against local DME prices but these assume you are only funding the insurance deductible out of pocket. I feel bad for people without insurance who also pay full DME retail prices. What a scam.
