New mask, new settings?

Post by caedenspa » Fri Nov 07, 2014 10:55 am

First off, thanks to all of you. this place is a wealth of knowledge. Without it, I'm not sure how I'd feel about all this.

anyways, I have a new mask being delivered today. I paid cash out of pocket, because the insurance company or the DME (not sure which) will only give me a new one once every 90 days. The Mirage Quattro works okay, but I can't get comfortable. Last night I loosened up the straps, did the fitting while laying down, and actually got comfortable. I thought all was well... till I woke up with air blowing in my eyes, repeatedly. And then I still had the forehead pain this morning.

Anyways, the new mask is a Mirage Liberty. Haven't tried it on yet or anything, but I need to know if I need to change any settings on the machine. I've searched this site and the web, and can't get a definitive answer as to what the settings should be.

Anyone know for sure?

No need to change any of the settings on your PR S1 machine in terms of mask.

I'm three/four days in with my Mirage Liberty and I really like it.
I'm having a bit of leaking around the nasal pillows, but that's infinitely better than air blasting into my eyes, or being woken up to a farting mask.

I don't remember if I pointed you to Rooster's Hybrid fitting tips but just in case I didn't or if someone else is wondering what I am talking about..
there's a special little trick to help keep those nasal pillows from moving and and leaking.

I've got more knowledge than I know what to do with, and still thirst for more, and I'm not sure how I feel about all this either

New mask, new settings?

I have a Liberty and keeping the nasal pillows in place can be a challenge at times. Especially when condensation builds up. Still, this mask works way way better for me than the respronics mask I started with.
