Re: where to sell res med CPAP
Wow you guys are a little harsh on this site, lets all jump on the new guy.. I lost my job awhile ago and while you speak of giving them away to someone who can't afford a new one I can't even afford my dr. bills, I was just trying to make a little extra money without having to sell stuff that is more important to me, and I thought maybe selling those would help someone else out at the same time. As a tech I have given several masks away to patients who didn't have insurance, now I find myself as one of those people who don't have insurance and have been struggling to get by. Instead of trying to help me with the right process to get rid of these you all chose to attack my motives like I just backed my car up to a medical supplier and opened my trunk up. Thank you 49er for taking the time and being the only one to give me solid advice I appreciate that, the rest of you were just rude and defensive. If you weren't interested in the masks then why do you even care? A hundred dollars for something I've seen selling for twice that looked like a good deal to me, I'm not in the business of selling these so maybe I was wrong with my price. Guess I'll take them apart and sell them as replacement parts.

I will be honest...you will make more money if you do that and part them out on EBay.SleepyTechs wrote:Guess I'll take them apart and sell them as replacement parts.
More work for you but that's what you will have to do to get $100 for a mask. Historically forum members offering masks here for sale do good to get 25/35 cents on the dollar when comparing to DME price or even online prices.
People that don't have insurance probably don't have $100 laying around either. People that have insurance won't want to spend $100 if their insurance will pay for it.
I don't mean to be harsh but I speak from years of experience seeing what these masks go for when sold privately. Forum members for the most part are notorious tight wads if they have the money and if they don't....they can't buy anything anyway.
Those real expensive full face masks...the sellers are lucky to get $75.
The nasal pillow masks...the sellers are lucky to get $50.
and those are sellers who are long established forum members here and prices include shipping.
Not someone who is new here and already stepped in it by saying they didn't pay for them and want to sell them.
But hey, go ahead and try. I have been wrong before.

Interested in your Resmed S8 Autoset w/Humidifier. I do not have insurance to cover for a CPAP & would like to know if you can let me know if you'd be interested in contacting me regarding selling this machine. Thank you for your time & consideration.

The original post with the S8 for sale was from August 2011. I doubt whether it is still available.S.Apnea wrote:Interested in your Resmed S8 Autoset w/Humidifier. Re: where to sell res med CPAP
Thanks for the help Pugsy, valid points and advice, I'll be sure to adjust my price to something more reasonable knowing what you just said, honestly I forgot I even had these sitting around as I haven't been working for awhile now so I just thought it was a win/win for everyone by me getting rid of them, I didn't know where to start or how to go about it. I figured if I could make some money towards my bills and help someone get a mask they could afford at the same time bonus! ya know? Didn't mean to come off as a shady figure I know I'm a good person just not very wise when it comes to selling stuff, I've never had to do this to get by before so it's stressful and a lot to deal with as a whole.Pugsy wrote:I will be honest...you will make more money if you do that and part them out on EBay.SleepyTechs wrote:Guess I'll take them apart and sell them as replacement parts.
