I hate it when my propellants collect in a puddle.

you won't get as much useful info, but it's ORDERLY
You are the biggest horse's arse I've come across here. No wonder you got kicked off other forums.

Will anyone provide advice to the original poster that has zero to do with the excellent software.

Questions about installing and using the software need a new thread.
No it doesn't have moderators. It assumes the posters are all adults that can read. Posts like that are distracting and totally useless. Use the search function and find out why.

BlackSpinner,
Ok I think we agree.
Please read the whole thread and see if anyone addressed the distress of the original poster. Instead it diverged into software installation minutiae and rocket science. I wonder if the original poster simply abandoned us since we are a bunch of loonies (yes I'm a loony). That was my point about moderators and why I screamed in the beginning, just trying to wake up knowledgeable folks here to the off-topic distractions.
I was only trying to do a good turn every day like a well trained Boy Scout.

At first I had a real problem with waking up to a super dry mouth, tongue, lips, everything. This was cured by the addition of a chin strap.
Now I wake up sometimes to my mask squealing because of the hurricane like air. I also wake up with what feels like a bad ear infection, but as soon as I take the mask off it goes away in about 15-30 minutes. Am I ever going to get used to this thing?
FYI my machine is set at 6 low, 16 high.
Welcome. Please enter your equipment in your equipment list. There's a link in my signature line on how to do this.

A wide pressure range like that makes it hard to stop leaks. If you fit your mask at 6 cm, it tends to leak when the pressure goes up to 16.

Do you have actual ear pain, or just a feeling of pressure like when you pinch your nostrils and blow until your ears pop?
I will enter my equipment before the day over.
Yes it fells like I have an ear infection, even tender and hurts to the touch. But that goes away 15-30 minutes after removing the mask. Then my ear feels a "full" for awhile.

cnl390,
My best advice is to begin a brand new post, just copy and paste your recent reply to yourself. I fear too many folks have abandoned this thread not interested in software installation, rocket science, nor forum politics.

Just choose a new subject title also. Best wishes, Craig

maybe I was wrong.

I doubt anybody has abandonded cnl390, and certainly nobody is going to deny information, however, as you might learn if you stick around for a while, to give *GOOD, HELPFUL* suggestions, one must have more information from the questioner.

the solution to "I'm smothering" could be opposite things depending on what they mean.

the solution for 'my mask is squealing' will be different depending on what KIND of mask they have and what pressures they are using.

the solution for most problems depends a lot on the specific circumstances.

to start offering shooting from the hip "solutions" without finding out what the problem really is could be detrimental to people's health and wellbeing, as well as ending up making them so frustrated that they quit trying to make cpap work altogether.

you said you're an enginner... when someone comes and says "we have a problem" do you just throw out the first thing that comes to mind, or do you dig into the problem, and find out what's happening and offer the best solution?

I know which one I'd HOPE you do.

you've been here for eight whole days, and already you've decided what needs to be done to 'fix' this forum so it's as good as smaller, less active forums.... eh?

Palerider, I do agree completely. But please read the thread from the beginning and think of my measure of good advice "will my 85-year-old mother in-law comprehend and follow the advice"
Notice the original poster replied four minutes after my attempt to help today after waiting since two days ago for anything useful.
The original thread went down a rat hole that you and I understand happens. But still the original poster seeks real help, thus my advice to begin a new thread since we destroyed the first thread (yes I derailed it).

I notice that four minutes after you posted something, they replied TO SOMEONE ELSE, responding to the other person's reasonable request for more information so as to be able to offer potentially accurate help.

as to your 85yo mother, I have no idea, I don't know her.

it all depends on her cognitive ability, if she's able to operate a computer, she can probably get some useful information out of here, just like someone in their 20's or 40's...

or are you implying that 85yo people are inherenty mentally infirm and need to be pandered to? I don't quite get what you're going for here, sorry.

I'm sorry that you don't appear to like the forum.

Jay, excellent. And now I know why a glossary definition is beyond a basic glossary sentence. It makes sense to me. Thanks.

Jenk, with a clear airway apnea of 55 you need to see your doctor again. Or best said this is beyond me - but others will chime in certainly.
