My ACPAP took a huge jump in pressure

There's a lot to respond to here and I will as I can. Thanks so much for all the help.

I do sleep on side/belly. I HOPE I'm getting into REM, that's what I need. But it would kind of suck if at that point the thing blows so hard it wakes me up. I do have the unit on a low table about a foot from my head so I can just lean over and look at it for the pressure info while still wearing the pillow. It's illuminated so it's easy to see.

I'll check into the upgrades and using the smart codes.

So I just did this for the first time and I guess I'm surprised at the fact that the report says I only had one AHI last night, and that was sleeping a massive 8.7 hours which is A LOT for me. Over the past 90 days I'm averaging 1.5 AHI so I guess that's pretty good. My highest pressure was 7.5 so I guess that's not too bad either.

How do you know when to buy new nasal pillows? I don't want to wait until they break but if they last a year I don't need to order new ones now either.

If you don't have a spare nasal pillow get one. You don't have to buy the whole setup.
You should always have a spare.
Nasal pillow life duration....can vary widely among individuals.
Or you could have one with a short life if the dog decides it's a nice chew toy (happened to me).
They don't "break" as much as they just get tired and no longer seal easily.

If the dog eats your nasal pillow will the insurance pay for another. I suspect you would have to the doc to write another script. Als wold they ask for the torn up little bits of the old one.?

Replacement parts don't require a RX.
Now to get a person's insurance to pay for it there is usually some sort of replacement schedule that DMEs use. Even Medicare allows 2 nasal pillows per month (but they will normally last much longer).
But replacement parts can be obtained easily from cpap.com or sometimes EBay (depends on the part) if someone wants to bypass insurance or doesn't have insurance.
