SleepyHead Data Import Issues

Post by Semily » Sat Sep 27, 2014 11:29 am

Okay, forgive me. I am sure this info already exists somewhere, but a quick search hasn't turned up the answers I'm looking for, and I don't want to spend all day poring over old threads.

I started therapy in July and had been using SleepyHead to view data. And I did have the preferences set to save backups. After 30 days, I had to send the SD card to the DME, and when I finally got one back, it was a card that someone else had used previously. But I had my old data saved on the computer so it wasn't a big deal. I figured out how to purge the other person's data.

Okay, so I had some issues with Windows Vista on my laptop and rather than just upgrading my OS, I had to do a clean install of Windows 7. I did save the SleepyHead data folder externally and copied it back to my laptop. But now that I've reinstalled SleepyHead, I can't figure out how to import the old data. All I've managed to bring in is the data saved on the card since they sent it back to me. Can anyone help me figure out how to get the old data out of my backups?

Sometimes it's hard to get SleepyHead to go to the folder with the backup files in it.
If you can't get SleepyHead to simply import from the backup folder you could manually add the saved P0 folder contents to the same folder in SleepyHead and/or add them back to the same folder on the SD card.

In your MyDocuments SleepyHead puts all the data files in the P Serial number folder....take them from your backup file and manually place them in the folder....or just put them back on the SD card in the P0 folder and let SleepyHead import again.

The data files are the 3 file types....xxx.001, xxx.002 and xxx.005

I had the same problem of someone else's data on the SD card after I did my 6 week check-up with my sleep doc. Most of the time SH displays my data, but sometimes it displays the other. How did you purge it? I tried deleting the other machine's data from the SD card, but it still shows up from time to time on SH. Kinda randomly shows up.

Would it be easier for me to just get a new SD card? Can I use any SD card or does it have to be a PR brand card. Will the other data still be stuck in SH? Right now it's jumbling the data from the two machine together randomly. My overall numbers are screwed up.

data on the card is arranged in folders named by the system serial number... you can delete the wrong (older folder) from your sd card.

then in sleepyhead, there's an option under the data menu to delete data from a system, should be something like data/adavanced/purge all cpap data/ then pick the one that isn't your serial number.

pretty much any sd card will work, though I wouldn't use a really big one, smallest cheapest should be fine, the one supplied is a 2gig card.

I didn't know there was a xxx.000 file. Never saw one with my machine.
Anyone know what it is?

it's best to just tell SH to import data, and point it to the backup directory, and let it figure it out

Yeah, I tried that but it gave an error and didn't import anything. I finally just copied all files into the new directory. That gave me some of the old info, but not all of it. Most days are missing the AHI. It's not really a big deal, but I'm switching to a nasal pillow and it would be helpful to compare against my prior usage with FFM. but thanks for the help guys!

hmm, maybe the older verisons of SH didn't backup prs1 data... *scratching head*
