autopap vs cpap

Post by jcmn81980ster » Fri Sep 05, 2014 9:17 am

I got bored and switched my machine from cpap to autopap mode ( I know I shouldnt be playing with the settings ) and when im in cpap mode they have my pressure set at 9 and my ahi is 1-2 when I switched it to auto mode the pressure only reached 4.2 and my ahi was 0.66 when I had the cpap titration at the sleep lab I did notice that when I woke up the cpap mask was lose and leaking out the sides of the mask so I am not sure if they got an accurate setting but I do know that when I had the first sleep study done my ahi was 66 and oxygen was low and stuff so I do know that I am doing way better with the cpap just not sure if ishould have them adjust the settings or not

How long have you been using a range of pressures? (If it was only one night, that's not enough to reach any conclusions)
What range of pressures did you set it to?
Did you experience any sleep disturbances/awakenings?
Are you using software to monitor your therapy.......and to look at your downloaded reports?

And what pressure range did you use in APAP mode?

That's not a range, that's a single pressure.
Plus, your profile shows you have an "Elite" machine which is not capable of "Autopap" mode (range of pressures).

Your setting of 4.2 cm. is about the lowest pressure you can go to.......4.0 is the minimum/lowest.

Did you have any trouble breathing......or feeling like you couldn't get enough air to breathe?
