Looking to switch to Auto - Suggestions
Looking to switch to Auto - Suggestions
So I mentioned in another post how I've lost enough weight and went from 36 events an hour down to 7. My machine and pressures don't seem to match my new state. My doc said based on the study he couldn't recommend changing anything as I still have decent numbers. What I know is that the therapy is now inconsistent as my OSA is minimized but I still have many clustered events - last week I had 30 in a hour and felt like a truck hit me. My AHI used to be 1.0 and I felt great without random bad nights but now I feel like I'm getting inconsistent therapy as I have good and bad hypopnea nights and generally have good and bad days to match. I'd like to switch to an Auto Bi-Level or ASV. Anyone out there switched from a Bilevel to bi-level auto or ASV? Anyone have a newer model for sale?

What type of event were these events? OA, Central or Hyponea?dwrek wrote:last week I had 30 in a hour and felt like a truck hit me
How about posting a couple of detailed night's reports?

I believe that's a bi-level machine.
Doesn't that machine have Auto capabilities? I don't have a manual on that machine, but I would think it does.
ASV machines are directed more to people with Central Apneas.
It would be helpful to see reports from your nightly data.
Many things can cause "clustered events". Any ideas as to what they could be in your case?

no, the VPAP ST does not have any auto capability, it's a fixed, dual pressure machine, with a backup rate available (the T in ST)Wulfman... wrote: Your profile shows:

the ST-A non invasive ventilator has auto capabilities.

my concern would be, does he need the backup rate, because the ASV machines don't provide that. only the ST and ST-A machines offer the timed backup and settable minimum volume assurances (read up on iVAPS in the ST-A)
