First night using CPAP
Last night was my first night using the CPAP and I got 6.5 hours sleep and my AHI is 3.6 is that good??
Re: First night using CPAP
I would say so. Give it a few weeks and you'll start feeling better. I went most of my life untreated, so when I started using a CPAP at 48, it was a huge shock to my body. But now I feel better than ever

That is incredible!! Great job. I'm jealous - took me the better part of a year to get 6.5 hours of sleep with the machine.

You might want to take a stroll through my SleepyHead Tutorial thread ....links in my signature line.TorontoJewel wrote: My machine says that I slept 6.7 hours, and AHI is 3.1
AHI is just Apnea Hypnea Index or an average per hour of all the events you had over the entire sleep period.
Example
AHI of 3 would be you average 3 per hour and if you slept 7 hours that would mean over the 7 hours you had a total of 21 events.
They may have been spread out over the 7 hours or they may have occurred in short clusters in segments.
Glossary of common terms you may see mentioned here and/or on software reports

When you have time could you post your equipment to your profile (see mine below) that way if you have problems later we can easily see what your equipment is and tailor our responses better.

Re: First night using CPAP
AHI is your apnea/hypopnea index, you want it to be less than 5. Think of it as the number of breathing cessations you have per hour with the machine.
