You need to access the "provider's" menu (which is different for each machine).
"they" would like you to think you can't do this, mostly because they are insecure about their jobs.
It's a silly hang-up they have, --one hang-up we cannot afford to humor.
listen to the frog, the frog knows things, the frog is good.

(ok, never thought I'd be saying THAT... )

I was going to take a photo of the back as it's full of numbers...here goes: the brand is Respironics, System One

REStart Auto, DOM
ReF 560P
SN P11644423476F
REV 01 3.XX. 2014-06-03

Humidifier:
System One HT, DOM
REF DS6TFLG
SN H116444708B12. REV 01
2014-06-03

I don't see any other relevant info other than safety / licensing tags. Ps. Tyler Mr Frog. Not sure if I would have remembered to take the water reservoir out first lol.

that's it, the 560 tells us that it's a phillips respironics system one 60 series auto machine.

to get into the locked settings, turn the knob to 'setup' and then hold down the knob and the button for a few seconds till it beeps, and then turn the knob to setup again, press it, and poof, you're in.

best to read some more in the forum here to find out what all that means though.

you can also pull the data off the machine using sleepyhead software to read the SD card that's in the back of the blower unit.

Palerider is almost correct in how to enter the clinicians menu. Turn the knob to "setup". The press and hold the knob and ramp button simultaneously for at least 5 seconds. Then go back to the setup menu again, and you will be in the clinicians menu.

It is entirely possible I misread your post. I spend all day reading technical manuals, and maintenance instructions. Sometimes by the time I get home I miss things. My DME left the clinicians manual in the bag with my Model 560 machine.

mine too! well, I got my 560 of craigslist, from someone who was selling it practially brand new, and it had the clinicians manual in it.... I was surprised.

for the OP, you can get your own copy by following the instructions near the bottom of this page:

You all have been great help. I have gotten the data downloaded and looked at the high pressure events. I have looked up the meaning of the various events, but am a ways from understanding how it all interacts. At least one of those days had a number of things going on at the same time--I'm guessing they all confirm the Obstructive Apnea-Hypopnea diagnosis. The highest pressure recorded was a 12 and maybe I was confused when I woke up as from all I've read, it sure looks like my airway had basically collapsed at those episodes. The machine sure did record a lot of events right before the air started ramping up. I then have nights with zero anything. It did help to get a crash course in AHI and see the data like that. I think I better understand what was happening.

What I don't recall is why was I going into the setup?

When you wake choking like that you can always push the ramp button to bring it back down to 5 so you don't feel suffocated.

you felt the machine was defective, and you said that it was locked into it's settings.

now, you have information about what the machine is doing, and why it's doing it, (and, it sounds like from what you said above that it's doing what it's supposed to be doing) ... and you now know how to change those settings if you feel you need to

That is exactly what the RT told me to do, but the size of the machine, plus my clock, plus my lamp, I can't get the machine close enough to the bed to reach the ramp button. The good news is last night my AHI was the highest I've seen, the 90% pressure was 12.5 and I did not wake and was able to sleep through the event like you are supposed to. I have now gotten over 7 hr sleep 2 nights in a row, practically a record for the past several years. Doubt I get that much tonight seeing as it's now almost 3 am. Even if I do sleep 5, I do quite well with it. Two 7's and a 5, I'll gladly take it!

I now have my machine details to the best of my knowledge. If I've listed something incorrectly, please let me know!
