S9

Post by Portageegal » Tue Aug 12, 2014 3:52 pm

I got a new machine today. It's the ResMed S9. Had a problem with the humidifier. Apparently they forgot to pack the gasket in, but they brought one and it is ready to go. My S8 crapped out about a week ago, so I am anxious to get back on the hose. Wish me luck.

Which specific S9 did you get?

It is a shame the S8 did not last until the release of ResMed's newest line - the ResMed AirSense 10 announced just yesterday.

Hi. Good to see you in this neck of the woods again. Hope things work out well with the new machine.

Newer is not always better. What makes you think the "10" is better than the "9" ?

I looked at the features of the S10 and they didn't look much different from the S9. The look is different but I don't notice that when I'm sleeping. The S10 looks like it has some features that may help the newbie, but will make no difference to the experienced user.

what??? maybe you should get one of those custom skins, then you could lay there all night long looking at it through slitted eyelids

How has life been without CPAP ?

I am a newbie and the thought of my machine breaking down stresses me. I have been thinking about getting a spare

Welcome back to hoseland. Yet another reminder that it's good for all of us to try and get a spare machine when the opportunity arises.

Maybe not.

But, if "I" were buying an APAP today, I certainly would spend some time comparing the ResMed S9 AutoSet to the new AirSense 10 AutoSet.

And although I do NOT like to be an early adopter, I dislike even more buying something that may be discontinued soon.

Unless the S9 AutoSet turns out to still be the better APAP, "I" would be buying the AirSense 10 AutoSet. A tie would still go to the AirSense 10.
