Did my own Pulse Oxygen test

Post by chriscummings83 » Sat Aug 09, 2014 5:00 am

I am waiting for my new Machine from the DME. So I broke out the CMS50D+ to test my o2 Levels.
How do I upload my data so someone can help me understand it? I did drop below 90% a couple times.

This might help

It is not necessary to drop below 90% to be considered a desaturation event.

Posting screen shots of images of the reports lets us see what you are seeing.
Screen shot thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=81072&p=737779#p737779

Also make sure that any drops in O2 don't have a gray line when zoomed in on to see close up. Gray lines mean loss of contact and loss of contract will result in a drop in O2 being recorded.

You might want to look at the link in my signature block.
That describes how to post to Photo Bucket.

I can only view and see the data from SP02 software. It isn't there when I look for it through my computer sp02 data

How do I save it or import it to my MAC and view it with sleepy head.

windows 7, (maybe 8,I dunno) gets "clever" and hides the data.

it's actually under c:\users\[username]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files(x86)\SpO2 (assistant, depending on version)

Ok, You have to go into control panel and click show hidden files. then you will see the app data.

I then had to move the file out of the folder to get it to show up on my mac side.

Now what do I do with the data. I imported it. and it gave me a summary. But its not graphed or i also don't understand it. Anyone I can e-mail it to and get some help. Thanks

Blood Oxygen Saturation

Average SpO2 % 95.64
Min SpO2 % 87.00
SpO2 Drop Index 13.96
% of time in SpO2 Drop 25.16%

Pulse Rate

Average Pulse Rate 61.
Min Pulse Rate 51.00
Max Pulse Rate 85.00
Pulse Change Index 10.41

uh, the graphs are *right there*.... ????

the main thing is that you didn't spend any significant time under 88% spo2. looks like more of a glitch.

It looks like you had some difficulty at around 2:30. Your O2 levels dropped and your pulse rate spiked. At around 4:00 it looks like you rolled over and fiddled around to around to around 4:40 and then drifted back to a light slumber.

Not too bad but it would be better if your minimum SpO2 was 3% higher.

chriscummings83,

Curious how you did using that during the night. I am looking at a similar or the same monitor and wonder if if I will have problems keeping it on during the night. I really don't move around much but do some.

I have a monitor now, but it doesn't record anything and is a constant pain in that it beeps on the heart rate when it drops below 60 which for me is common as my resting heart rate is commonly in the mid 50's. There is no way to turn it off.

the cms50f and i units have alarms that are off by default, and are wrist mounted. cost about 2x as much as the cms50d+ if you buy them from aliexpress

It clips to your finger, mine didn't fall off and i know i toss and turn. I'm sure you can velcro or make it tighter with a rubber band. Wasn't a big deal to me.

On my pulse ox, you can set the beats and the sp02 alerts. Just lower your bpm down and make your o2 around 85 and see if it alarms. but for $35 from amazon it is worth it.

It would be interesting to see the 2:10 to 3:10 time period scaled so that that hour takes up the full screen. I'll bet there are some nasty sawtooths occurring. It's true that other than that hour it doesn't look too bad. Still, something abnormal is going on there which don't look like artifacts due to loss of contact.

Has anyone had any experience on the O2 meters you buy on Groupbuy sites? http://www.dealathons.com/?city=125&cid=47&id=5418

if it doesn't record, it's pretty worthless for our purposes.
